The Story of Douglas Credit Union Limited.
Douglas Credit Union was set up in 1964 to assist the local people when it became evident that they had no access to proper credit facilities or financial services. A lot has changed in Douglas since then, but the Credit Union has kept the same ethos; to serve the people.
In the early years, the Credit Union moved homes three times and only opened on a Friday night. It has come a long way since then.
In 2007, a branch in Grange was opened due to member demand. Then in 2016, Douglas Credit Union merged with Passage West/Monkstown as part of an expansion and growth strategy. Thanks to this merger, the common bond area now stretches from Douglas to Ringaskiddy. Anyone living or working within this community can join the Douglas Credit Union, at any of the three branches.
Douglas Credit Union Limited is a local, not for profit financial institution. We provide a safe place to save and loan to the community.
