The theme of the 2017 Credit Union Art Competition is Set your imagination free Children are invited to interpret this theme however they like.
The Credit Union Art Competition is one of the most successful annual promotions undertaken by the Credit Union Movement and the 2017 competition aims to continue this winning formula. The competition is about encouraging and rewarding self-expression, creativity and imagination among young artists throughout Ireland.
The competition requires entrants to draw or paint posters on the theme using pencil, charcoal, pen or ink, felt-tip markers, crayon, pastel, watercolours, gouache, acrylics, oils, poster colour or collage. No computer aided design will be allowed. The posters must be A3 in size and landscape. Portrait entries will not be judged. Do not bend entries. The text of the theme does not have to appear on your artwork.

There are two categories - General and Special - with five age groups in each: 7 years and under, 8-10 years, 11-13 years, 14-17 years, 18 years and over (and a further Group section in the SPECIAL category). The Special Category encouraged participants with a physical or intellectual disability to submit entries in free expression without the restriction of the competitions official theme if they so wish. The closing date for Douglas Credit Union entries is October 14th.
WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT OUR JUNIOR EVENT ON OCTOBER 19TH, TAKING PLACE FROM 2:30PM.
